INSTRUCTIONS
HERO POSE ILLUSTRATION (Adobe Photoshop)
In the following task, we were required to develop the hero pose of our character as well as to create the 3D model of it in the Anatomy and Character Sculpture module. I wanted her to have a more energetic dynamic pose, as it has to reflect her outgoing personality. Hence, I decided to go with a slightly jumping/ tiptoeing pose. Below is the development of my OC's hero pose. I made slight amendments to its hair and costume design to better suit her personality.

In the following figure, it showcases colour implementation on my character. I wanted to use colours which reflect her cultural background, hence red; and colour which reflect her story setting (she lives by the pond habitat, cause there's where lotus grows), hence green. I added some pastel colours to balance off the overall vibrance, as well to give a cuter feel to my character, cause she, after all, is a kid character. |

The feedback I received from Ms Anis was that I can proceed to render my character and to keep her cape as shown in option no.4 in Fig.1.0 (it makes her look more complete).
Below is my rendering process on Adobe Photoshop.

During my rendering process, I find out that her legs in Fig 1.1 no 3 and no 4 are too eye-catchy, and the focus was all over the character. It is challenging to find a single spot to focus on at the first glance. To solve this issue, I add on a black long stocking for my character. I also changed her hair colour into a more vibrant blue, and add on more motives to reflect her background. Below are the silhouettes and render options of my character. I went with no 2b in Fig.1.6. As too much green makes my character runs away from the original persona set.

Below is my final outcome for my character, Xu Xuan's hero pose. |
HERO POSE 3D MODEL (ZBRUSH)
We were then tasked to develop our character in Zbrush. Below is my progression.
