Week 1 (23/08/2021)

To begin with, Mr Mike introduced us to a series of projects available for collaboration. Below are the slides which comprise all the projects.

Then, we were tasked to choose one of the projects by teaming up with 5 other design students of different specializations. My team and I opted for the last option, which was the "Food in the City" project. This project is about creating a DIY food farming product that caters to the general public. We would be collaborating with the students from Czech for this project. The discussion with the other schools/ beneficiaries would take place every Friday, 2:30pm - 3:30pm. But for the "Food in the City" project, students can only contact the collaborator at 4pm.

Mr Mike also introduced us to Design Thinking and Spatial, a Virtual Reality software that allows real-life classes to be taken place. The discussion of the

Reflection: Overall, it was an eye-opening experience to be able to learn about the projects which we will be working on. Spatial was pretty interesting as well and serves as a beneficial alternative to help students learn in the midst of the pandemic.

We have finalized our groups by today and I switched to Group 2 for a project named SUGOi. We had our first meeting today and had a brief idea of the business plan from the Business school student. Below are some of the deliverables we received from them:

We also created a Miro board, Google Drive folder, and WhatsApp group for discussion purposes. A progression tracker was provided to us to track our weekly progress too.

Week 2 (30/08/2021)

We learned about what design thinking is today. Design thinking is being used by more people and not just designers.

Week 2 - 3
Mokshanah and I joined Food in the City Group 1 due to some complications of the previous project group. My initial impression of this project was that this project will be even more challenging as compared to the rest as students would have to design the product and work on the marketing side. But at the same time, I am also looking forward to what this new journey would offer in the upcoming 12 weeks. After joining this project team, my experience was quite exciting as we are starting brand new. What I observed was that the dynamic of this group is good, and they welcomed us very nicely. Meanwhile, I found myself adapting quite quickly to this change.

We worked on finalizing the personas this week. Below were the personas.

Megan Chang (45%)

Rajen A/L Kumar (30%)

Nadia binti Muhammad (20%)

Serene Ong (5%)

Week 4
Upon finalizing our personas, we then worked on crafting the questionnaire. Below is our progression for the questionnaire.
Urban Farming Survey Google Form

Here is the list of questions included in our survey form. We received a total of 50 responses from the public and tabulated the data.

Week 5
We met our collaborators from West Bohemia University and presented our project proposal to all of them. Eva and Katka decided to join our group after listening to our presentation. Below is our project proposal.
